Gary Larkin was named Head Coach of the Lady Hawks Volleyball team in 2003. He is also an English Professor at HCC.
He holds a BA in English Literature from Boston College, where he played NCAA DI lacrosse, and an MA in creative writing from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
In 2018, The Lady Hawks earned a bid to the FCSAA State Championships, making the post-season for the 12th time in 16 seasons. HCC has earned 3 FCSAA State Championships, 7 Gulf District Championships, 7 bids to the NJCAA Championships, and 5 Suncoast Conference Championships. At the NJCAA National Championships, HCC finished 3rd in 2013 and 2015, 7th in 2009 and 2012, 8th in 2008, and 11th in 2006 and 2007. The Lady Hawks posted 20-win seasons ten times and 30-win seasons six times. Larkin's record is 407-186. He has been named AVCA Two Year College Northeast/Southeast Region Coach of the Year four times, FCSAA State Coach of the Year three times, District H Coach of the Year seven times, Suncoast Conference Coach of the Year five times, and USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Outstanding Coach. Larkin has coached 6 All-Americans.
He is married to Lisa, and they have two beautiful children, Aidan and Reina.
